Founded in 2000 by Norwegian Olympian Johan Olav Koss, Right to Play (RTP) is an international charity that works to protect, educate, and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play. Right to Play gives children the opportunity to learn different things by focusing on four types of play: games, sport, creative play, and free play. RTP focuses on five key areas of development: quality education, gender equality, health and well-being, child protection, and peaceful communities. In F2018, the charity gave 2.3 million children a safe place to play and learn through its 52 refugee camps around the world. It also reports that 50% of the children and youth in its programs are girls.
